A “host” is a speaker or Pastor who welcomes the audience, gives announcements, or leads the offering segment of the service. This person is usually separate from the main Pastor or speaker who will be delivering the message segment.
Most of the framing of hosts happens with Cameras 1 & 2. Usually a wide shot will be used to transition from a music segment to an offering or information segment. This wide shot will normally be taken on Camera 7, followed by Camera 2 or 3 covering the host or speaker who is front and center stage. Camera 3 will pick up the speaker framed mid-thigh to top of head. Camera 2 will then frame tighter, to about elbows up. These shots are used to frame the speaker for titles and lower-fifth information bars.
